Kindermusik Studio Policies

Online Classes
We are pleased to offer online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic as a safe alternative to meeting in person. Enrollment includes unlimited class attendance and Kindermusik@Home digital materials. Once you’re enrolled, you’ll receive an email each week with available class times and materials to find around your house to use in class. Billing will continue monthly (see our withdrawal policy for more information). Class times are subject to change based on teacher availability and enrollment changes.

Make Up Classes:

While we offer classes online, you are welcome to attend as many classes each week as you’d like! If you can’t attend your regular class, you can attend any other scheduled session for your class level; no need to schedule a specific make up class.

Class Cancellations:

If an online class has to be cancelled because of teacher illness or unavailability, we will let you know with as much notice as we are able. We encourage you to attend a different class time for the week, provided each week in an email with your weekly class times.

Non-Enrolled Siblings:

Additional children in your household are welcome to join us for online classes! We love to see family making music together. Please be mindful of the age of the registered class when participating in sharing time and keep things age appropriate.

Billing:

Tuition is prorated into equal payments and will be charged on the first calendar day of each month. Though the payments occur monthly, they do not reflect a certain number of classes per month. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Due to the time and administrative cost involved in collecting late payments, any account issues that are not resolved by the 10th of the month will incur a $25 late fee. After the 15th of the month, student attendance will be suspended until all fees are paid.

Transferring to the Next Level:

When your child is ready to move up to the next class level, let your instructor know! You can try out the next level to see if it is right for you, or you can review our guidelines for moving to the next level here. If you determine that moving up is appropriate, we will change your enrollment to the next level and begin sending links for the next level of classes each week. A $20 materials fee will be added to your next tuition payment, and a new set of instruments will be delivered to you via porch drop-off or mail, depending on where you live.

As always, you have lifetime access to the Kindermusik digital home materials from all the units you have had in previous levels.

Withdrawing from Class:

Once you’re enrolled in our classes, your spot is secure! However, you may choose to un-enroll at any time by filling out a withdrawal form before the 1st of the month. Your withdrawal is not confirmed, and auto-payments may be processed, until you receive a written confirmation from us. Once processed, auto-payments will not be refunded due to lack of sufficient withdrawal notice.

Once you withdraw, any previously missed classes that have not been made up will be forfeited.

Satisfaction Guarantee:

If you aren’t completely happy with your Kindermusik experience after attending at least four consecutive classes, we’ll refund or credit your tuition.

In-Person Classes

Make Up Classes:

You are welcome to schedule a makeup class if you cannot attend your regularly scheduled class. Please click here to schedule a makeup class. Twenty-four hour notice is requested. To ensure a quality experience for everyone, we limit the number of families making up or previewing to two per class. We’re sorry, but we do not offer compensation, refunds, or discounts for missed classes.

Wellness Policy:

We recognize that Kindermusik is a special time each week for you and your child. Even when you or your child are ill, sometimes a child will want to come to class because he/she does not want to miss a favorite activity or friends, however, most ill children will be cranky, lethargic, whiny, and/or aggressive and will not have a good class experience. Most apparent is that unwanted germs will expose other children and your educator. If you or your child are has a fever, or anyone in your household has been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please wait 7 days before attending an in-person class. PLEASE STAY HOME where everyone is more comfortable and germs will not be spread. We’ll be happy to schedule a makeup class after everyone is feeling better. Maintaining a healthy classroom requires involvement of the educators as well as our families. Together, we can maintain a healthy environment.

Class Cancellations:

In-person classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather. We will follow the Shawnee Mission School District’s decision on school closings, unless we contact you otherwise. Any cancelled classes will be made up by the end of the semester. Please watch your e-mail and our Facebook page for weather-related cancellations.
