What does membership include?

Membership is free and automatic when you enroll in any of our programs and allows you to take advantage of many of our services and special pricing. There is no annual fee and your membership never expires. A few of our membership benefits:

  • A welcome gift at your first School Year class
  • A new CD every four weeks, featuring our class music
  • Unlimited access to online parent resources, printables, videos, craft ideas, and age-appropriate activities
  • A special birthday gift
  • Fun holiday celebration classes in October, December, and February
  • Lifetime unlimited makeup classes for the duration of your enrollment
  • Flexible scheduling – change classes, days, or times as needed
  • Sibling discounts of $10 per child per month
  • Referral rewards: invite your friends, and save $10 when they enroll
  • Fun surprises throughout the year!

When do classes start?

We typically offer classes September through May, as well as summer sessions in June and July. Currently we are offering unlimited online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. You are welcome to join us at ANY time – no need to wait for a “first day.” Every day is a great day to join us!

How much do classes cost?

Our Kindermusik classes are $65 per month. Sibling and family discounts may apply; contact us for details. Visit our individual class pages for specific pricing information.


Tuition is prorated from the day you enroll, so you’ll never pay for classes that have already occurred.

Which class is best for my child?

The Kindermusik philosophy springs from genuine respect for each child’s individual rate of development. Class activities and at-home materials are designed to honor, support and celebrate the wonderful uniqueness of each child. Classes have overlapping age ranges to help parents accommodate their child’s own needs. Our educators have been trained to help you decide which class will be the best fit – and will also assist you in deciding when the right time may be to promote to the next class. How do I access my Kindermusik materials?

To access your online Kindermusik materials, head over to my.kindermusik.com. If it’s your first time signing in, click on “First time logging in” and provide the e-mail address you gave us when you enrolled. New activities will be added to your account approximately every four weeks, or when we change themes in class. You have forever access to these materials, and can access them from any internet-connected device.

How do I make up a class?

In-Person Classes

You are welcome to schedule a makeup class if you cannot attend your regularly scheduled class. Please click here to schedule a makeup class. Twenty-four hour notice is requested. To ensure a quality experience for everyone, we limit the number of families making up or previewing to two per class. We’re sorry, but we do not offer compensation, refunds, or discounts for missed classes. Upon withdrawal, any remaining makeup classes are forfeited.

Virtual Classes

For our virtual classes, we offer unlimited online classes. No need to schedule a make up class–if you can’t attend your regular class session, simply attend a different class listed in the email you receive each week.

Can I bring a visitor to class?

Due to the ongoing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, only one adult can attend with each student to help us allow for physical distancing. Please see our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures for more information.

Can I bring a sibling to class?

Virtual Classes

If you are attending classes online, we understand that siblings will all be at home together! Your virtual class membership includes unlimited access to all classes of your registered level. If you’d like to attend another level of classes for a sibling of a different age, you can register at a discounted rate to receive access to the classes for that level.

What is your inclement weather policy?

Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather. We will follow the Shawnee Mission School District’s decision on school closings, unless we contact you otherwise. Any cancelled classes will be made up by the end of the school year. Please watch your e-mail/text messages and our Facebook page for weather-related cancellations.

Are you affiliated with the churches where you hold classes?

We are so grateful for the opportunity to rent space from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in KCMO and Lenexa United Methodist Church in Lenexa. However, our program does not have any affiliation to the churches, religious or otherwise.

When can we start piano lessons?

We are proud to be the only Kindermusik studio in the KC metro that offers a lifetime of musical opportunities, from birth through adulthood. With that said, we get a lot of inquiries about piano lessons for young children. At InJoy Music, we offer Kindermusik classes through age seven. We offer Play-a-Story piano classes for children who are 5 and/or entering Kindergarten by September 1; and we offer Simply Music piano classes for children who are 6 and/or entering First Grade by September 1. As always, we are happy to discuss the best choice for you and your child.

May I leave the building while my child is in class?

We require a parent or adult caregiver to be an active participant in class for our Foundations and Levels 1 and 2 classes.

For Levels 3 and higher, you may leave the building shortly while your child is in class; however, please return promptly for Sharing Time (the last 15 minutes of class).

How do I update my credit card information?

To update your credit card information, please give us a call at (913) 362-8209.

How do we withdraw?

Upon enrolling at InJoy Music, your spot is held for the school year (September through May). However, you may choose to un-enroll at any time by filling out a withdrawal form before the 1st of the month. Your withdrawal is not confirmed, and auto-payments may be processed, until you receive a written confirmation from us.
