Heather Mayfield joined InJoy Music in the Winter/Spring 2006 semester. She
first learned about Kindermusik in a Village class with her son, Ben. She was
so impressed, she began helping Miss Amy maintain a website and enroll
students. After receiving her Kindermusik Educator's license, she began
teaching Village and Our Time classes.

From an early age, Heather knew she wanted to be a teacher. While the ages
and subjects she wanted to teach varied, she always knew she would spend her time working with children. She began her college education pursuing an
elementary education degree, but switched to Middle School Education after
a wonderful experience in a 7th grade classroom in an urban school in
Kansas City, Missouri. While in college, Heather also worked as a behavioral
therapist with special needs children. After graduation, she taught 7th and
8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at a Kansas City area private school.

 Miss Heather believes that music is an important part of learning and growing for children and adults. Her goal is to help guide children and their parents on the path to a lifetime love of music. She believes that Kindermusik is a special opportunity for parents to find new ways to connect with their children.

As a parent of a Kindermusik student, Heather is excited to be a part of the excellent teaching and exciting experience of Kindermusik with InJoy Music!

During the Summer and Fall 2010 Semesters, Miss Heather will be on maternity leave. She will continue to coordinate birthday parties and maintain the website.
