Miss Amy
director, educator

You could say that Amy Ludwig was destined for a career in music. At just one week of age, Amy’s great-grandmother took her tiny hand and said, “This child will play the piano.”

Amy started formal piano instruction at the age of six and developed life-long friendships with her two instructors, Carolyn Somogyi and Denise Parr. A graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, Amy enjoyed studying with Professors Christopher Hepp and Alice Downs.  While at KU, she was an instructor for the Children’s Piano Laboratory Program, which focused on group instruction for elementary-aged children.

After graduation, Amy admitted the necessity of a “real” job and worked as a meeting & events planner while teaching piano part-time. As the demand increased for spots in her studio, she also realized the need to reach children who were too young for formal instruction.  Extensive research led her to the world of Kindermusik and she instantly knew that it would be a great introduction to the world of music, in addition to being the best choice for the development of young children.

In early 2003, Amy formed InJoy, a program that offers a bright future for children through Kindermusik classes and private piano instruction. She made the decision to leave the corporate world and teach full-time in March 2003 and has “InJoy”ed every moment since!

Miss Amy’s teaching philosophy focuses on the journey, not the destination. Her goal is to instill a lifelong love of music in each one of her students. She is a proud member of the Music Teachers National Association, Kansas City Music Teachers Association,a Conductor’s Circle Maestro for Kindermusik International, distinguishing her as one of the top 1% of Kindermusik educators worldwide.
